Memory Space: a new in memoriam fundraising site for Mind

Leading mental health charity Mind launches a new website solely dedicated to in memoriam fundraising today.
Chameleon designed and developed the site, which allows Mind’s supporters to create their own web pages, including fundraising event pages, in memory of a loved one. The pages can be highly personalised by adding stories, pictures and videos to give friends and family a collective space to share memories. Each Memory Space can then be used to raise funds for Mind in memory of the loved one through donations or event sponsorship.
Caroline Corr, Head of Public Fundraising at Mind said, "We had noticed a growing demand from our supporters for ways they could fundraise for Mind as a tribute to someone they have lost, so wanted to create an easy to use, bespoke space where this could be done.
“Chameleon’s design team has expertly met this brief, creating a space that provides a fantastic experience for our supporters and fully reflects Mind’s values. We’ve already received positive feedback from those who have used the site and are looking forward to being able to engage more people in this way”, says Caroline.
The site, which has launched with 45 active Memory Spaces, was highly praised by supporters during the user testing phase. Comments from users included:
- “Brilliant idea and a beautiful way to remember people.”
- “Great site and great idea. I am a trustee for a Bereavement Charity and really think the approach you use is great not only for raising money but helping people through the grieving process.”
- “This is a beautiful idea. I really hope people will use it.”
